A Four-Month Group Coaching Experience
Let's talk! Schedule a free Discovery Call to discuss your writing goals, ask questions, and determine if the Self-Editing Essentials Group is right for you.
Cue the confetti! You're amazing! Research shows 97% of people who start a book won't finish it. You're in the 3%. Let's hit pause to let that statistic sink in.
You've finished celebrating, (and I hope you lingered in that happy space for a while—you've earned it).
But now that the book is done, what happens next?
At this stage, you might be tempted to hire an editor, find beta readers, or cross your fingers and send your manuscript to literary agents.
The possibilities are exciting, but you might not want to do that just yet. It's hard, but consider resisting that urge for now.
Your beta readers are amazing people, who are likely reading your work for free. Once.
Literary agents are swamped and unlikely to read an unpolished manuscript.
I'm a developmental editor, and I know the power of a good developmental edit. It's a transformative creative experience. But only when the time is right. You'll get much more out of a developmental edit if the notes aren't full of details you could have handled yourself beforehand.
But self-editing can feel overwhelming and lonely too. Clients tell me so all the time. Most don't want to go it alone, and I get it. I'm a writer too. I've been in your shoes. And that's the reason I've created the Self-Editing Essentials Group Coaching Program. (Cue the confetti again, please!)
Polishing your writing doesn't have to be a herculean task. In fact, when it comes to my own writing, editing is actually my favorite part of the process. I love the chance to make something that I care about shine. I want you to enjoy the same satisfaction.
Fiction and memoir writers with completed or almost completed manuscripts.
Two Live Coaching Calls. See your manuscript from a brand-new vantage point. Get unstuck and move your story forward. Twice a month our small group will meet on Zoom to workshop your quandaries and conundrums and glean inspiration from one another. Every member will have a chance for coaching in these sessions. Attend live or watch the recording!
Community and accountability. Join our private Facebook group for writerly community and communication. Set goals and priorities, talk craft, and cheer each other on.
Loads of learning. You'll receive a series of recorded trainings in your inbox each week full of actionable strategies to help you edit your manuscript strategically and efficiently. Work through this series at your own pace.
That's up to you! Enrollment is ongoing.
That's also up to you! The program is designed to be completed in four months. But you're encouraged to work at the pace that makes sense for you.
After four months, if you decide you've found your people and you want to linger (we'd love that) your payments are reduced by 50%. Seriously!
What Will I Accomplish?
By the end of our time together you will have had the opportunity to work through your manuscript in its entirety to prepare it for self-publishing or submission to agents and editors.
You'll discover all the elements of macro and micro edits. You'll polish your prose with line edits till it's sparkling.
And before you go, we'll meet for a one-on-one conversation on Zoom. I'll answer any last questions you have, and, if it's helpful, we'll discuss what comes next for your book.
Best of all, once you learn the skills in this group, you'll carry them forward to use over and over each time you embark on a new writing project.
What's the investment?
The first four months are each $350. Want to stay longer? I'd love that! And to show you so, your payment will be reduced to just $175 per month for the same content and programming.

I believe that words matter and that stories change the world. I'm passionately committed to supporting fiction and nonfiction writers build sustainable writing practices that enable them to write bravely, boldly, and beautifully with maximum efficiency and success.
With over fifteen years of experience teaching and editing, as well as professional success writing my own fiction, I’m privileged to work with new writers, seasoned storytellers, and all the folks in between.
Whether you’ve got a new idea that’s percolating, or you’re confronting writers’ block, cruising through revisions, or ready to pitch to agents, I have tools and techniques to help.
Rebecca's guidance helped me sharpen my story's focus and humor, and identify and address areas in my book in need of extra work. This feedback, coupled with her encouragement and enthusiasm, gave me the confidence I needed to complete my project!

Rebecca gave me the compass to navigate my goal of becoming a published author. She made the process fun and was so encouraging while really keeping me on task. Being a total novice to the publishing world, I would not have had the courage or confidence to submit my work without her professional guidance and smart, thorough, and collaborative input.
